Angered over not waiving tax and insurance, Dehradun Metropolitan City Bus Service Federation has announced to stop the operation of buses from August 2
Angered over not waiving tax and insurance, Dehradun Metropolitan City Bus Service Federation has announced to stop the operation of buses from August 2. Along with this, they have warned to park buses in RTO and surrender the permit. In this regard, a memorandum has been sent to the Transport Minister, Secretary Transport, Transport Commissioner, Garhwal Commissioner and Divisional Transport Officer (Enforcement).
President of Bus Service Federation, Vijayvardhan Dandriyal said that the employment of city bus vehicle operators has ended due to the operation of contract vehicles against the rules. Under the city bus scheme, Vikram was supposed to be operated in rural areas but the rule is not being followed. The operation of Vikram in the city capital has ruined the business of city bus operators. At the same time, the operation of e-rickshaw is also being done on the main roads of Dehradun city. E-rickshaws have been banned on the main roads of the city by the notification of the state government, but with the connivance of the police and transport department officials, e-rickshaws are being operated indiscriminately on the main roads of the capital. The operation of electric buses on city bus routes and keeping the fare at par with city buses is also causing huge losses to the city bus operators. Apart from this, there was serious economic to the bus business loss due to the Corona crisis. All these problems were presented to the departmental officers many times, but no action was taken. So there is no other option but to protest.
