Pre-monsoon this time seems to be taking our exam in Uttarakhand. After three years in Dehradun, so much rain is recorded in June. Due to the change in the weather pattern in the state late on Wednesday night, there was relief from the scorching heat, but troubles also started. Due to rain from Garhwal to Kumaon, roads were closed as debris came in many places. The road to Tehri has been closed due to debris and landslide in Maldevta near Dehradun. Debris entered several houses and also damaged farms.

In Pithoragarh of Kumaon, the Kailas-Mansarovar road has also been closed due to the cracking of the hill amid rain. Apart from this, Kanalichina on Tanakpur-Tawaghat highway in Pithoragarh is also closed. Traffic is stalled in Champawat near Dhone and also on the Almora-Ghat road due to debris.

According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain may occur in Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Rudraprayag, Dehradun, Champawat, Nainital, Almora and Tehri. In the plains districts, along with rain, heavy winds are also expected at the speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour.
