Uttarakhand: Tirath will contest from Gangotri, announcement soon

Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat can contest from Gangotri assembly seat. According to BJP state president Madan Kaushik, Gangotri is also an option in the seats where the chief minister is likely to contest.

At the organization level, brainstorming has started regarding the preparation for the by-election. A meeting of state general ministers was held under the chairmanship of state president Madan Kaushik. In the meeting held at Kaushik's official residence in Yamuna Colony, by-election of the Chief Minister was discussed. According to Kaushik, there will be a meeting again on Friday which will also be attended  by the Chief Minister.

According to sources, in both the meetings held at the organization level, emphasis will be given on expediting organizational activities and election preparations after the corona infection subsides. The chief minister's by-election is also a major issue in this. Kaushik says that now that the unlock has started, the party need to focus on the election preparations.

On the possibility of contesting the Chief Minister's election from Gangotri, he says that party workers from Gangotri assembly have met the Chief Minister. The District President and other senior leaders also wish that the Chief Minister should contest from Gangotri.

Three months in Corona..Now three months in election preparation

The Chief Minister completed three months of his term on Thursday. Now he has to go to the by-election after three months. The three months of his tenure were spent in overcoming the challenge of the Corona epidemic and the Kumbh Mela. The challenge of Corona is not completely over yet and now there is a new challenge of by-election.

After CM’s return from New Delhi, the exercise for the by-elections in the BJP started. It is believed that National President JP Nadda has given the green signal to the organization to prepare for the by-election. The BJP has won all the by-elections held in the state since it came to power.

This by-election has special political significance. This by-election will be held only a few months before the 2022 assembly elections, so it is being considered as a semi-final. Political experts believe that the victory in this by-election will act as a catalyst for the assembly elections.

This is the reason that even after the Gangotri seat fell vacant, the ruling party has had to think from which seat, the Chief Minister should contest. Kaushik says we have many options apart from Gangotri seat. The MLAs of Dharampur, Kotdwar, Yamkeshwar, Lansdowne, Badrinath and Bhimtal are ready to vacate the seat for the Chief Minister.

There are many options to contest by-polls: CM

Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat said on the possibility of contesting by-election from Gangotri assembly that he has many options to contest by-election. Three options are under consideration. The workers of Gangotri assembly are coming to me that I should contest from there. In the coming days it will be clear from where I will contest.
