SDC Foundation has released a report in this context based on the Reserve Bank of India's State Finance Report 2019. According to the report, a comparative study of the budget of the last three years showed that Uttarakhand is spending the least on the health services of the common people across the Himalayan states. According to the report, Arunachal Pradesh has spent the highest per capita expenditure of Rs 28,417 on health services in the Himalayan states between 2017 and 2019.
Uttarakhand has spent the least amount of Rs 5,887 per person in these three years. Apart from this, Sikkim has spent 21,137, Mizoram 16,712, Himachal Pradesh 10,176, Meghalaya 9,856, Jammu and Kashmir 9,469, Manipur 7,755 and Tripura 7,156 rupees per person on public health facilities. According to the report, the Himalayan states of the North East have spent nearly three times the national average in health services per capita in the last three years. Himachal has spent 72 percent more per capita than Uttarakhand.
