Uttarakhand Election 2022: Uneasiness in Congress, demand from party high command for CM's face

As the Uttarakhand assembly elections are approaching, not only in the BJP but in the Congress also a period of upheaval and turmoil has started. On Wednesday, former Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat made it clear in his statement that the elections in the state would be fought under the leadership of the current CM Tirath Singh Rawat.

After this, now the Congress party has also become curious about the face of the CM for the elections. On the one hand, virtual meetings of BJP workers are being held, while on the other hand, senior Congress leaders of the state are meeting the high command and planning the election. Both the parties seem to be deciding the issues, but there is no clarity about the CM's face in Congress right now.

Senior Congress leader and Jageshwar MLA Govind Singh Kunjwal appealed to all the senior Congress leaders to unite against the BJP. At the same time, Kunjwal again demanded that former Chief Minister Harish Rawat be made the CM face of the Congress party.

Kunjwal said that Harish Rawat is a recognized leader of the state, under whose leadership the Congress will come to power.According to the strategy that is visible so far regarding the assembly elections, Congress is adopting the method of going to the public regarding the issue of health, inflation, unemployment, while giving priority to the works of the Modi government, the BJP bangs on the achievements of the Center.
While targeting the BJP, Kunjwal said that Harish Rawat did a great job in the last tenure on issues ranging from mountains to youths but BJP did nothing in the last five years except changing the CM.

On the other hand, BJP's Almora MLA Raghunath Singh Chauhan took a jibe at the factionalism of the Congress and said that there is a ruckus in the Congress regarding Harish Rawat. Though Chouhan could not tell the achievement of his party's state government, he was seen praising the Modi government.

It is clear that before the upcoming elections, in Congress, there is a competition for the CM face. Congress leaders are doing rounds of Delhi and Dehradun. BJP workers are also holding meetings on how to take the achievements of the government to the public.
