UK Board Exam 2021: After 10th, now 12th exam also canceled, all students will be promoted
The state government had already canceled the 10th examination because of the corona infection whereas, the 12th examination was postponed. But now the government has canceled the 12th examination also.
After the cancellation of CBSE and ICSE 12th exams, now Uttarakhand Board 12th exams have also been canceled. Announcing this on Wednesday, Education Minister Arvind Pandey has said that the government has taken this decision keeping in view the interests of the students and teachers. He said that all the students would be promoted. Also, the children who think that they have been promoted by giving fewer marks or could have done better in the examination will be given an opportunity to appear in the examination.
More than one lakh 23 thousand students registered for 12th
More than one lakh 23 thousand students are registered in the 12th class of Uttarakhand Board, while more than one lakh 48 thousand students are registered in the 10th examination. 1347 examination centers were set up by the education department for Board examination. At first, only the high school examination was canceled by the government but now the 12th examination has also been cancelled.
Decision was taken after brainstorming
A meeting was held in the secretariat under the chairmanship of Education Minister Arvind Pandey in which Chief Secretary Om Prakash, Secretary Education R Meenakshi Sundaram, Director General Education Vinay Shankar Pandey and officials of the Education Department were present. According to the decision and guidelines of the Central Government and CBSE, it was decided to cancel the Intermediate examination in the state.
CBSE process will be implemented in the state
It was decided in the meeting that the state education department would also work according to the procedure which would be adopted by CBSE regarding the cancellation of Inter examination.
The decision to cancel the class XII examination in the state has been taken because of Covid 19. The government is concerned about every single student, teachers and parents, this decision has been taken in the interest of everyone said Arvind Pandey, Education Minister.
Earlier, the government was planning to conduct 12th examination on the lines of competitive examinations
The government was preparing to conduct the Uttarakhand Board's 12th examination based on multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Education Secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram said that if the examination was based on MCQs, the paper would have been one and a half hours instead of three.
Students and teachers did not get the vaccine
The government was busy preparing for the Uttarakhand Board's 12th examination, but no arrangements were made for vaccination for the students and teachers. Only 30 thousand teachers have got the vaccine in the state. This is also one of the major reasons for the cancellation of the examination.
10th students will be promoted on this basis
Standards have been set to start promoting the 10th class students of Uttarakhand Board. According to departmental sources, students will be given marks in class 10 based on marks obtained in class 9. Uttarakhand Board of School Education has sought details of internal assessment marks of students in classes IX and X from schools.
