The course in the Nepali language in Uttarakhand Open University (UOU) will start from this session. The study committee has approved the proposal of the expert committee in this regard. An expert committee meeting was held on March 8 to conduct Nepali language courses in UOU. In this, a proposal was made that a six-month certificate and one-year diploma program could be started in the Nepali language. The course will be of 28 credits as per the norms of the University Grants Commission. Students taking admission in this will have to be 12th pass. On Thursday, a virtual meeting of the study committee was held under the chairmanship of Director Prof. HP Shukla to conduct Nepali language courses under the regional language on behalf of the Humanities School of UOU. During this, the proposal of the text prepared by the committee was agreed.

Regional languages ​​will be promoted: Program coordinator Dr. Rakesh Rayal said that Vice-Chancellor Prof. OPS Negi believes that regional languages ​​should be promoted. Nepal is our neighboring country. Lots of people of Nepali origin live in Uttarakhand. In such a situation, Nepali is no less than a regional language for us.
