Uttarakhand Film Television and Radio Association (Uftara) honored 15 dignitaries from the state at the Uftara Samman ceremony at the Town Hall in Dehradun.

Uttarakhand Film Television and Radio Association (Uftara) held a grand honor ceremony in the Town Hall of Dehradun. The ceremony honored 15 eminent personalities with outstanding work in film, art, literature, music, and agriculture. The chief guest was former District Judge Jaidev Singh.

Ufftara organizes the ceremony of honoring the flag bearers of the state folk culture every year. Due to the Corona pandemic last year,  the ceremony was not held, but the ceremony was celebrated grandly this year. The program paid tribute to the late artists of Uttarakhand through video.  In the meantime, the grief of losing their companions made everyone's eyes moist.

The folk artists' performance during the Uftara Samman ceremony entertained the audience at the ceremony.  The folk singer Padam Gusain regaled everyone with Pandavarta on the drumbeat. During the honor ceremony, the song Churko Pani made under the banner of Np Films was also released.

In the Uftara Samman ceremony 2021, Ramratna Kala for the preservation of culture, lyricist and director Ganesh Viran, noted colorist and famous actor Baldev Rana of Uttarakhand, filmmaker Devu Rawat, writer and director Sushila Rawat (author of the first Garhwali serial Bhagirath Prayas), filmmaker Sudarshan Shah, Om Prakash Semwal, founder of Kalash Sanstha who distinguished Garhwali poems, Pannu Gusain, folk singer Maya Upadhyay, Jaunsari folk singer Manoj Sagar, folk singer, and writer Mukesh Kathait, young musician Sumit Gusain, musician Surendra Kohli, Ajaypal Singh Pawar for outstanding work in agriculture, and Dr. Virendra Bartwal for giving a new identity to the Garhwali literature were awarded. 

Apart from the celebrities who were honored at the Uftara Samman ceremony, many eminent personalities from the Uttarakhand music and film world also attended the function. Culture minister and comedian Ghananand Gagodia, folk singer Kalpana Chauhan, Swarkokila Meena Rana, Dr. Sonia Anand Rawat, Manju Sundariyal, music composer Sanjay Kumola, Rajendra Chauhan, Dr. Sonia Anand Rawat, actors Balraj Negi, Sanjay Silodi, Rajesh Malgudi, state agitators Several artists including state president Jagmohan Negi, Pradeep Kukreti graced the occasion.
