Due to the mutual tussle between Jal Nigam and Jal Sansthan, thousands of people are facing a water crisis. Dharampur MLA has also had to intervene in this matter. The central store branch of Jal Nigam in Majra Upper Zone, Lower Zone, Niranjanpur and Sevlakalan did the work of laying new lines under the AMRUT scheme. Fifty to sixty percent of the work has been done in many areas. Jal Nigam officials claim that commissioning has been done by laying a line of about 20 thousand meters in Upper Majra. The commissioning has already been done by laying a line of 25 thousand meters in Lower Majra. There is no problem in supply from Turner Road, street-one to 26 area of Lower Majra, but supply has been disturbed in large areas of Majra, Sevlakalan and Niranjanpur of Upper Majra. According to JE Amar Singh of Jal Nigam, the feeding from Shakti Vihar of the Upper Majra zone to ISBT is getting better. There is a problem with ITI's tube well. We had tested running water in the same lines for two floors. Jal Sansthan is not doing line handover even after completion of work on Lower Majra zone.
This area affected: Partial part of Niranjanpur ward from tube well of ITI Majra, supply is being given to a large part of Majra Sevlakalan. Sewla Kalan, Walia Mohalla, Gangotri Enclave, Kashmirikarauli, Brahmanwala, Uday Vihar, Rajiv Juyal Marg, Umang Vihar, Nehru Vihar, Aman Vihar, Shiva Enclave, Ashoka Enclave are affected.
Problem due to non-operation of ITI overhead tank
This 1800 kiloliter tank, built about ten years ago, has become a showpiece in the ITI campus Majra. The Jal Nigam was repaired and handed over to the Jal Sansthan. It was sought for trial, but the Jal Sansthan refused. Tubewells are supplied directly to the areas. It is being told that the discharge of this tubewell has decreased since last week. On the other hand, Jal Sansthan says that 2600 LPM of water is being received from the tube well. That means there is no problem with that. Councilor Neeraj Sethi told that people are not getting water. The officers of both the departments are engaged in allegations and counter-allegations against each other. There is a problem in Chaman Vihar.
We are not tampering with the distribution system of Jal Sansthan. Therefore, following the suggestion of the MLA, the distribution system has been handed over to the Jal Sansthan for a week. The overhead tank has also been repaired so that it can also be used said Sandeep Kashyap, EE-Drinking Water Corporation Kendriya Bhandar Branch.
Talked to the officers of both departments about the drinking water crisis. Jal Nigam is an expert in line laying and Jal Sansthan drinking water distribution. Therefore, Jal Sansthan has been asked to handle the drinking water distribution system for a week. If there is any problem anywhere in the line or tubewell, then it will also be known said Vinod Chamoli, Dharampur MLA.
