Three and a half thousand Kanwariyas arriving to collect Gangajal from Haridwar were returned

Despite the ban on Kanwar Yatra, Kanwariyas from neighboring states of Uttarakhand including UP are coming to Haridwar every day to take Gangajal. Uttarakhand Police is stopping them at the border and sending them back. In the last one week, the police have returned 3635 Kanwariyas from different places of Haridwar. DIG Crime and Law and Order Nilesh Anand Bhare said that this time Kanwariyas are trying to come to Haridwar despite the ban on Kanwar Mela. Kanwar Yatris reaching Haridwar by road and train are being sent back from the border of the district in shuttle buses and trains. Haridwar Police sent back a total of 3635 Kanwariyas including 1174 two-wheelers, 3473 small vehicles and 136 big vehicles from Narsan, Bhagwanpur and Khanpur borders. Along with this, a total of 316 Kanwar passengers who came by trains were sent back to their destinations through shuttle buses and trains. He told that the police are continuously monitoring the border.

Chance for the constables to change cadre

Police Headquarters has provided a chance to the Police Constable of Armed Forces to join Civil Police. DGP Ashok Kumar said that if the constables of less than 10 years working in the armed police want to voluntarily go to the civilian police and for this they fulfill the prescribed conditions, then they can apply within 15 days to their respective range office.
