Two Army tanks, Air Force fighter aircraft, Navy small ship, two Army cannons and two air defense guns will become the center of attraction in the "Sainya dham" to be built in the memory of the brave martyrs of the state. The Central Government has given approval for the installation of these disposable equipment of the army in the military dham.
On Tuesday, Uttarakhand's Sainik Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi met Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh in Delhi. He requested the Union Defense Minister for necessary cooperation while presenting an action plan to make Sainya Dham attractive. He submitted a memorandum to the Defense Minister regarding the issue of land transfer between the Army and the State Government in Mitthi Behari, Dehradun, Vilaspur Kandli Drinking Water Scheme and extension of the lease period of Gorkha Military Inter College and sought his cooperation in resolving these issues.
The Cabinet Minister informed the Defense Minister that a grand Martyrs Memorial Sainik Dham is being constructed in the state. It is connected with the sentiments of the people of the state. Its purpose is to acquaint the youth of the state and the country with the heroic stories of the Indian Army and inspire them to serve the country. He requested for providing disposable military equipment to make it attractive, to which the Defense Minister agreed.
Cabinet Minister Joshi told the Defense Minister that the state government has given five acres of land in Kolhapani area to the army instead of Mitthi Behari area of Dehradun. Despite this, the local residents in Mitthi Behari area are not being allowed to do the work of construction and repairs etc. due to this the residents are facing problems. Similarly, water is to be supplied to residential and military areas from Vilaspur Kandli drinking water scheme under construction under Sahaspur. Here the necessary no-objection certificate from the Ministry of Defense is not being issued. On this, the Defense Minister said that necessary action would be taken on these cases.
The cabinet minister of Uttarakhand requested the Defense Minister to extend the lease of Gorkha Military Inter College, Dehradun for another 90 years. On this, the Defense Estates Department informed that the rates are being revised for leased lands. The state government will be informed in this regard once it is done.
