After the cancellation of Kanwar Yatra, GRP (Government Railway Police ) stopped 325 Kanwariyas who came from Delhi, Punjab, Haryana to Haridwar to collect Ganga water at the railway station itself. All the Kanwariyas were sent back by shuttle bus, roadways and trains. The kanwariyas who did not return were warned by the police to remain in quarantine for 14 days and cases have been registered against them. The government had postponed the Kanwar yatra to be held in Haridwar. After the month of Sawan from Sunday, the Kawariyas have started coming to Haridwar secretly. A large number of Kanwariyas reached Haridwar by trains that reached Haridwar on Monday morning.

More than 325 Kawaris got down at Haridwar station from Mussoorie Express, Amritsar Express, Howrah Express and Barmer Express that reached Haridwar station. The GRP checking at the station stopped all the kanwariyas and made them sit in the waiting room. When the police inquired, it came to know that all the youths have come to Haridwar to take Gangajal. The police told the kanwariyas that this year the Kanwar yatra is postponed that's why they have to go back from here. When some people refused to go back, the GRP, along with registering the case, warned them and asked them to get quarantine in Haridwar for 14 days.

After this, the Kanwariyas returned with their tickets. Some people have been sent via shuttle bus to the border of Narsan. While some people were sent back by trains after getting tickets from the police themselves. Kanwariyas were also returned from Haridwar through roadways buses. GRP SO Anuj Singh said that all the Kanwariyas have been sent back. No Kanwariyas will be allowed to enter Haridwar city. Shuttle buses have been installed for Kanwariyas coming by trains in which they will be sent back.

Youth had arrived with the group

A large number of Kanwariyas had reached Haridwar from Delhi. The maximum number of Kanwariyas reaching here is from Delhi. They told that for the last many years, they are coming to Haridwar at the beginning of the month of Sawan and to take water from Holy Ganges.

Exemption to those coming for bone immersion

There were also a large number of people in the trains who had come to the station with the ashes of their relatives. The police allowed the people who brought the ashes to come out of the station.

Strictly Checking Instructions

ASP GRP Manoj Katyal has instructed the policemen to strictly check on the people entering Haridwar. He said that under any circumstances, Kanwariyas should not come out of Haridwar station. Kanwariyas coming by trains will be sent back immediately.
