Devotees also observe a fast for nine days and different types of bhog are offered to them on each day. It is believed that by observing the fast of Navratri, Mother Durga fulfills all the wishes, so if you are also keeping a fast for nine days, in such a situation, you will have to take special care of your health, otherwise, you will feel tired and weak during the fast. 

While fasting it is necessary that you follow the right rules. Some of its rules are written in our scriptures. By the way, there is a law to fast on all the days of Navratri. But for those who cannot fast for all, alternatives have also been given in the scriptures. If you keep a fast for nine days, then it is necessary to know how to maintain the energy of your body and how to control hunger.

What to eat during Navratri fast

  1. Dried Fruits

Dried fruits are healthy options because it contains macronutrients such as protein, carbohydrates, and unsaturated. According to research, nuts like almonds and walnuts contain a good amount of protein, dietary fiber, and vitamin B6. In such a situation, dry fruits can not only give you protein during fasting, but it will also make you feel full in between meals. You can eat a handful of dry fruits daily.

  1. Cheese

Paneer gives more strength during fasting days. Along with protein, calcium is also found in good quantity in it. Generally, 100 grams of paneer contains 18.3 grams of protein and 208 milligrams of calcium. In addition, it is also rich in B vitamins, which are essential for bone and cartilage health. By eating cottage cheese, the deficiency of protein in the body will be fulfilled.

  1. Legumes (फलियां)

If people who experience weakness and exhaustion during fasting days eat legumes, their energy level increases. You can make stuffed paratha by using potatoes in rajgira flour.

  1. You can consume all kinds of fruits during fasting, especially those fruits which have high water content, this will keep the water level of your body balanced like grapes, watermelon, cantaloupe, papaya, etc.
  1. Carrot, raw banana, tomato, and cucumber can also be used during fasting.
  1. To keep yourself energetic during the fasting days, you can consume dry fruits like cashews, almonds, raisins, walnuts, etc.
  1. You can use dairy products like milk, curd, butter, paneer, and ghee in the food.
  1. During fasting, all kinds of whole spices, and rock salt can be used.

Do not eat these things during Navratri fast

  1. If you want to go out and fast for these nine days, then avoid eating junk food, or maida things. 

      2. Eat salads and fruits. If you will consume all these things, then it will increase your bus and bus fat.

     3. On the other hand, if you control these things, then you will be able to enjoy Navratri and the upcoming festivals in a        healthy way. 

    4. Do not use garlic, or onion in fasting at all.

    5. Do not use plain salt (white salt).

    6. Do not drink any kind of intoxicant or alcohol during the fast.
