Sneha Dubey, who is India's first Secretary, gave a fiery and befitting reply to Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan on his comments about India. Earlier, India had criticized Pakistan as a patron of terrorism and a suppressor of minorities in reply to which Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan ranted against India.

Statement from India-

In her response at the United Nations General Assembly, Dubey, India's First Secretary said, “Pakistan holds the ignoble record of hosting the largest number of terrorists proscribed by the UNSC (United Nations Security Council). Osama Bin Laden got shelter in Pakistan. Even today, Pakistan leadership glorifies him as a martyr."

Who is Sneha Dubey?

Sneha Dubey is a 2012 batch IFS officer who brought the real face of Pakistan in front of the whole world. She cleared UPSC on the first attempt. After becoming IFS, she got appointed to the Ministry of External Affairs. In 2014, She became India's third secretary at the embassy in Madrid. At present, she is the first Secretary of India In the United Nations Assembly. Sneha has done MA and MPhil from JNU. She completed her early education in Goa and later graduated from Fergusson College, Pune, and finally to Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru University for MPhil in international studies. She is the first Civil service officer in her family.

She brings up a dream of becoming an IFS officer from the age of 12. She cleared the civil services examination in her first attempt in 2011. Dubey is a passionate traveler and believes that as an IFS officer, she has received a great opportunity to represent her country. Dubey is the first person in her family to be working as a government servant. Her father works in a multinational company, while her mother is a school teacher.

Her Career

After becoming an IFS officer, Sneha worked at the Government of India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) as an Under Secretary. She then became India’s Third Secretary at Madrid and in 2014, she was posted to the United Nations and is currently working as India’s First Secretary at the UN.

In her reply, she also called Pakistan an "arsonist disguising itself as a firefighter," words of courage for which she has garnered praise all over social media platforms.
