Signs of unlocking in Uttarakhand. Shops and markets can open at the tehsil level

The danger of corona in Uttarakhand has reduced to a great extent however, preparations for the unlock have not been started by the Uttarakhand government yet and the Covid curfew is still in place. Shops and markets are still closed in the state, but after seeing a decline in the cases of Covid, the state government is thinking of giving relaxation in curfew at the tehsil level. There are indications that now markets and shops will be opened in Uttarakhand at the tehsil level. The state government can allow tehsils with less infection to open markets and shops. In a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat on Thursday, it has been decided to call for the status of the corona infection rate of the last 10 days at the tehsil level from the district magistrates.

There are total 110 Tehsils and 18 Sub Tehsils in Uttarakhand. The government may partially relax the opening of markets and shops in the tehsils where the rate of infection is very low and the situation is normal. According to official spokesperson Subodh Uniyal, the Chief Minister has sought a report of the infection rate at the tehsil level from the district magistrates and according to the infection rate, the government will consider giving concession in the tehsils. He said that the relaxation in curfew would depend only on the infection rate in the tehsil. He has said that it will completely depend on the status of the infection. The government will take strict action in the areas where the cases of infection are increasing. In the meeting, information has been sought from the district magistrates of all the districts about the infection rate at the tehsil level from the last 10 days.

Government spokesman Subodh Uniyal said that the government is not in a hurry to give concession in the curfew, therefore instead of the infection rate at the district level, they have thought of relaxing it according to the infection rate at the tehsil level. Earlier the central government in her circular has said that only those districts should be opened where the infection rate is less than 5%. Seven districts of the state are now meeting this criterion. The capital Dehradun is also included in these 7 districts. These 7 districts are - Uttarkashi, Haridwar, Champawat, Udamsinghnagar, Bageshwar, Tehri and Dehradun. In these 7 districts, the infection rate has come down to less than 5 percent. Let us tell you that the decreasing cases of the corona is undoubtedly a good sign but the danger is not averted yet. According to experts, the danger is not completely over yet and if negligence prevailed then the situation will become uncontrollable again. In such a situation, there is a need to be very cautious about Corona at this time.
