Former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan and senior Congress leader Sachin Pilot slammed the government on the issue of inflation. He said that the prices of petrol, diesel, cooking gas will have to be reduced. For this, Congress will continue to put pressure on the government by becoming the voice of the people. He also said that the directions of the Supreme Court should be followed regarding the Kanwar Yatra. Pilot was talking to reporters at Rajiv Bhavan.
Sachin Pilot accused the central government and said that the government has worked to weaken India's “Navratna” companies, they worked to break the back of farmers with Kisan Bill and now working to break the back of common people due to inflation. During the interaction with the media, he said that petrol diesel became more expensive than ghee these days. Petrol price reached Rs 100 in most states. The prices of Petrol and diesel have increased 66 times within 6 months.
He further added that 23 crore people came below poverty line in 7 years, with the hike in excise duty in petrol diesel the Center got the benefit of 25 lakh crore. The Government of India has imposed a cess of Rs 33 per liter on petrol, Rs 32 on diesel.
Decision on Leader of Opposition in Congress soon
On Thursday, Congress state president Pritam Singh said that the decision regarding the Leader of Opposition in the Congress will be taken soon. There is no problem with this anywhere. The national leadership has to decide on this.
