Rohit Shetty Confirms Sooryavanshi Release This Diwali

Good News for movie lovers it's finally happening. The Maharashtra government has assured the film industry that it will reopen cinemas from October 22, it bought joy among the actors, producers, and as well as to theatre representatives, and exhibitors. There is one movie that has already been confirmed for a theatrical release right after the big update of Rohit Shetty’s ‘Sooryavanshi’. The producer-director has recently confirmed that the film will be released during Diwali. they will provide all the safety protocols and Covid-appropriate behavior will be followed.

Akshay Kumar has recently shared a picture from the sets of the movie where he is seen sitting with Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh, who have made a cameo in the film. Director Rohit Shetty is also in the picture. The film is getting delayed in the past owing to the pandemic. It will finally be out for audiences to enjoy.

In his post, he wrote, "So many families would be thanking Shri Uddhav Thackeray today! Grateful for allowing the reopening of cinema halls in Maharashtra from Oct 22. Ab kisi ke roke na rukegi - AA RAHI HAI POLICE #Sooryavanshi #Diwali2021."

It has been postponed multiple times because of the coronavirus pandemic. Its original release date was March 24, 2020, but a few days before that, India went into lockdown. On October 15 last year, theatres were allowed to resume operations, at 50 percent occupancy. The Sooryavanshi team then waited for the occupancy cap to increase. In February 2021, the central government announced an increase in occupancy, which encouraged production houses to schedule their films for theatres. Later, the Sooryavanshi team announced April 30 as its release date.

However, the film was again postponed due to the devastating second wave of the pandemic that led to a lockdown in most states. Sooryavanshi was among the few films that refused to take the OTT route and chose to wait it out.

There is still an issue with the 50% occupancy rule, and also restrictions on night shows in many states.

Ironically, if Covid hadn't intervened and Sooryavanshi had been released as per plan last year, it would have been the first film allowed to start the last show at midnight - setting off a movement where movies would play in theatres well past 12 am.

By sharing a picture on Instagram with Honourable Cheif Minister, Uddhav Thackeray. Rohit Shetty wrote in the caption, "Thanks to our Honourable Chief Minister, Shri Uddhav Thackeray, theatres in Maharashtra to reopen from 22nd October. And FINALLY!!! we can say, This DIWALI…AA RAHI HAI POLICE…"
