Roadways workers gave an ultimatum of a strike from June 19th

Roadways workers, who have been struggling with the pending salary for five months in the Corona period, have now prepared for the strike. The Joint Council for Roadways Employees has declared an indefinite strike from 19 June. However, it has previously been decided to stage the demonstration in a phased manner. This includes state-wide dharna and a protest against the state government on June 17 at Gandhi Park.
These are the problems:
-Roadways personnel have not received salaries for five months.
- Operating only 15% buses due to Corona curfew.
- Wage and pending payment crisis in front of the roadways.
- Contractors and special class driver-operators are to be considered on duty on a regular 250 km basis.
- Demand to send a proposal of Rs 100 crore to the government to help the roadways.
- Demand and demonstration in the first phase from 10 am to 12 noon on June 10 and 11 in the first phase.
- Demonstration at all divisional manager offices on 14th and 15th June
- One day strike against state government at Gandhi Park on June 17
From June 19, the entire work-outs will start in the state.
Management was given notice of strike
Roadways Employees Joint Council has served a notice of agitation to Secretary Transport Ranjit Sinha and Roadways MD Ashish Chauhan. The notice sent by the Council's Provincial General Secretary Dinesh Pant has demanded immediate financial assistance to the family of the deceased worker due to Corona, including the demand for salary and pending payment. At the same time, it is been demanded to stop deducting EPF and deposit the amount and give jobs to the dependents of the deceased and family of special category personnel. Also, demand was made to exempt corporation's buses from passenger tax like last year.
