Interstate transport services have started with the unlocking. Transport services between Uttarakhand and Delhi are slowly coming back on track, bringing relief to the commuters. Roadways bus service has started from Rishikesh to Delhi route after three months. On the first day, four buses left for Delhi from the Roadways bus stand. The response of the passengers was also good, because of this, the number of buses on this route will be increased. The pilgrimage town of Rishikesh is the gateway to the Chardham Yatra. On normal days, 35 buses operate from here to Delhi every day. Last year, after the knock of Covid, the operation of roadways buses was stopped for several months. Later, when the buses started running again, the inter-state borders were closed due to the increase in the Covid case in March 2021. Buses on the Rishikesh to Delhi route were also closed on 7 May. Passengers were demanding to start bus service again between these states when the cases of corona decreased in UP, Delhi and Uttarakhand.

On the demand of the passengers, the Uttarakhand government also wanted to start operating buses to Delhi as soon as possible, but UP did not allow entry into its border. Now Rishikesh Roadways Depot has started operating Delhi route buses via Karnal. Buses have started running for Delhi from Sunday. According to transport officials, on the first day, there were enough passengers in 4 buses on the Delhi route. On Monday, 3 buses have been left for Delhi from morning to afternoon on the second day. Now buses are going to Delhi via Karnal instead of via Meerut. Due to which the journey of Delhi has increased by about 115 km. As the distance increases, the fare also increases. Earlier, passengers had to pay Rs 350 for traveling in an ordinary bus, but due to the increase in the distance, the fare has increased to Rs 420.
