Roads are blocked in many areas in Dehradun and nearby areas. Tourists also remained upset for the whole day due to the closure of the roads.

Roads closed due to heavy rains in Uttarakhand

Monsoon rains have started wreaking havoc once again. Rivers are in spate due to the heavy rains in Dehradun last night. Talking about Mussoorie, after heavy rains here, the main waterfall of Kempty Falls took a formidable form. Many roads including Badrinath Highway are closed in the mountains. Debris is piling up on the roads in Mussoorie. Due to which the tourists who came to visit Mussoorie were also upset. Due to the closure of the road, there is a traffic jam here. PWD  teams are busy opening the roads. When these are the conditions in the capital Dehradun, then we can very well imagine how bad it must have been in other hill districts. Due to the roadblock here, life has been badly affected. Talking about Jaunsar Bawar, her,  Kalsi-Chakrata road is closed due to landslides on Jajredi hill. It is raining in Pachwadun as well.

Kalsi-Chakrata road is closed in Vikasnagar. Apart from this, about 20 roads including Minas Atal, Haripur Koti, Sahiya Quanu are closed. There is no movement of vehicles on Kalsi-Chakrata road. People of Uttarakhand are badly affected by these roads closer. Communication services have come to a standstill. According to the Meteorological Department, there will be no relief from the rain at present. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in 7 districts including Doon. An Alert has been issued for the respective districts. Heavy rain may occur in Dehradun, Nainital, Chamoli, Tehri, Uttarkashi, Pithoragarh and Bageshwar today. Rain is expected in all other districts including Haridwar and Pauri. A warning of very heavy rain with thunder and flash of clouds has been issued in almost all the districts.
