Prisoner vehicle stuck in Bean river for about three hours
A prisoner vehicle got stuck in the Bean river on the Barrage-Chilla motor road around 1 pm. The vehicle came to a halt in the middle of the river due to the rise in the water level of the river. People informed the police station Laxmanjhula about this. The police station Laxmanjhula, who reached the spot, pulled out the vehicle safely after about three hours at four o'clock in the evening with the help of two cranes.
Police station Laxmanjhula said that on Monday, due to the deteriorating health of a prisoner, a prisoner vehicle from Haldwani came to AIIMS for health treatment with a prisoner. The vehicle was going towards Haridwar by Barrage-Chila motorway. During this the vehicle got stuck in the Bean river. After a lot of effort, the vehicle was pulled out of the river with the help of two cranes.
Significantly, the Bean river on the Chila-Barrage motorway remains a cause of trouble for the villagers. In the monsoon season, the Bean River comes in spate due to which the contact of more than one and a half dozen villages of Danda Mandal gets broken here. The villagers staged several dharnas for the construction of a permanent bridge over the Bean River but as it is a forest department area, the matter is still in cold storage. Due to which these days many vehicles are forced to pass through the roaring Bean river by risking their lives.
