Prevention from Suicidal Attempt

Every few seconds, someone loses their life to suicide. Suicide Prevention’s idea is to raise awareness about suicide prevention and 'Hope through Action' with a variety of activities around the world.

The goal is to shine a light on the issues in hopes of reaching people who are struggling before it's too late. The ongoing pandemic has made many people more anxious, depressed, and allowed them to take such extreme steps for several reasons, like job loss, losing a close one to coronavirus, lack of social gatherings, and so on.

In the hard times when you recognize someone's struggles you could reach out and provide them with emotional support, comfort, and genuine empathy you can help them with decision making and resolving problems and make them think positive and amidst their struggles so they move forward and seek help. This will help them with psychological first aid.

You should ensure that you are supporting them by communicating with them and make them feel that they are not alone, you are there in times of need and make them remind that there are always ways in which things can get better. As of 2019, there were more than 139 thousand suicides in India, 45% of which were due to mental illnesses such as depression, bipolar, and disorder.
