Tokyo Olympic silver medalist Mirabai Chanu 17 will also face a challenge in her weight category at the simultaneous World and Commonwealth Championships in Tashkent from December 17.

The membrane is the Asian Championships in the 45 kg weight category. Gold Coast Commonwealth Games gold medalist Poonam Yadav (76kg) of Banaras returned after three years to make it to the team. The same RV Rahul, Deepak Lothar, and Swati Singh could not make it to the team. The winner of gold in the Commonwealth Championship will get direct entry to the Birmingham Commonwealth Games. In the trial conducted at NIS Patiala, the membrane was lowered in the weight of Meera.
