Angry state agitators marched to the Raj Bhavan on Wednesday for not giving time for talks on behalf of the Governor and not fulfilling the demand of 10 percent horizontal reservation. During this, the state agitators going to the Raj Bhavan were stopped by the police by putting up barricades at Hathibarkala. After which there was a lot of scuffle between the agitators and the police. 

After the rain started, the state agitators sat in a sit-in demonstration with umbrella near the Hathibarkala barricading.

State President Jagmohan Singh Negi said that for the last 21 years, the state government has ignored the demands of the state agitators. In relation to the demands, the forum is asking for time for talks with the governor, but for the last two-three years, the governor has not had time to talk to the agitators. Whereas, the government is not paying any attention even to the demand for 10% horizontal reservation.

Congress Seva Dal's  yatra against government from tomorrow

Congress Seva Dal will organize a three-day march against the government from Kashipur to Raj Bhavan, Dehradun on July 15, demanding restoration of old grade pay of policemen.

Congress Seva Dal's state spokesperson Ashok Malhotra said that Congress Metropolitan President Sandeep Sehgal will flag off the yatra in Kashipur. The journey will reach Laksar via Jaspur, Kalagarh, Kotdwar, Laldhang, Shyampur, Kankhal, Ferupur, Sultanpur, where the journey will be overnight.

On July 16, the Yatra will start from Laksar and will rest the night after reaching Muni Ki Reti via Roorkee, Jwalapur, Haridwar, Rishikesh. On the third day on July 17, the State Congress Bhawan will reach Dehradun from Muni ki Reti. From here you will leave for Raj Bhavan. Where a memorandum will be sent to the Governor under the leadership of Congress State President Pritam Singh.
