Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the tree donation program organized by former Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat at a wedding point on Haridwar Road in the city. On this occasion, Chief Minister and former Chief Minister donated saplings to MLAs and public representatives. The Chief Minister asked people to plant more and more saplings to protect the environment. He said that everyone will have to take a pledge to plant trees on the occasion of Harela festival for the protection of nature.

Former Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said that keeping in view the concern for the future, we have to take a pledge of 'one person one tree'. He said that how we have to keep the environment healthy and safe, it is possible only through plantation on a large scale. He said that on June 5 i.e. World Environment Day, it was announced him that we will plant such plants, which live for a long time. These mainly include peepal and banyan. He has said that this Harela, our goal is to plant one lakh peepal and banyan trees across the state.

On this occasion MLA Vinod Chamoli, Munna Singh Chauhan, Sahdev Singh Pundir, Khajandas, Mayor Sunil Uniyal Gama, Dehradun District Panchayat President Madhu Chauhan, BJP Metropolitan President Sitaram Bhatt etc. were present.
