SDRF has been entrusted with the responsibility of passenger registration for the pilgrims going on the Chardham Yatra. On Tuesday, about 4000 devotees were registered at their three counters. According to the slot of SDRF, the date of Kedarnath Dham is getting available after 4th June. The date of 28 May is being given for the darshan of other dhams.

There under the new arrangement on the orders of Secretary Tourism, SDRF was entrusted with the responsibility of offline registration. There the eight counters have been opened in the Chardham Yatra Bus Terminal compound. 

While the passenger registration is being done at Brahmapuri check post on Bhadrakali road, Badrinath road on Gangotri route.

Registration of 4000 devotees was done on Tuesday

The SDRF sub-inspector Kavinder Singh Sajwan said that on Tuesday, about 4000 devotees were registered in all the centers. Darshan slot is not available for Kedarnath Dham till June 4. 

For other dhams, dates are being given after May 28. Separate arrangements have been made by SDRF for the assistance and registration of elderly passengers in the bus terminal compound.

Additional Commissioner Garhwal Narendra Singh Kuiriyal took stock of the Chardham Yatra arrangement. He has directed the officials of the Transport Department that the pilgrims who stayed in Rishikesh, whose date of registration is the oldest, should be sent on the journey first. He also directed the officials of the Transport Corporation to improve the system.

He said that a large number of devotees from other provinces are reaching here. Now the devotees who stayed in Haridwar have also started reaching Rishikesh.

Now the responsibility of the administration is to send all these on a pilgrimage to the Dhams. He told the passengers who have stayed there for several days.

There on a priority basis, they should be sent on a journey by providing them with buses. For this, the date of registration and the date of stay in the hotel and Dharamshala will be made the basis. In view of the shortage of buses, talks have been held with the higher officials of the Transport Department. He said that soon this problem would be resolved.

The Transport Corporation has been instructed to send only the devotees who come to the counter on the journey. If the complaint about providing buses directly to the travel agent is confirmed, then it will be the responsibility of the concerned officer of the corporation. He said that taking cognizance of complaints of exorbitant fare collection from devotees, he directed the ARTO to take strict action.
