Negligence regarding third wave, neither social distance nor mask necessary for political parties
In political programs, from leaders to workers, Covid rules have been flouted. Pressure to prepare for the assembly elections is such that they do not even consider necessary to follow the Covid rules
Only the political parties that preached the observance of Covid rules in the state have kept the rules and regulations on hold. Be it the ruling BJP or the main opposition Congress or the Aam Aadmi Party, which is pushing for a third political option, the slogan of social distance and mask is necessary in the programs of all political parties is just a ‘jumla’.
In political programs, from leaders to workers, Covid rules have been flouted. There is so much pressure on all the political parties to prepare for the assembly elections that they do not even consider it necessary to follow the Covid rules in political programs.
Congress's Raj Bhavan marched no one cared about the rules
On the call of the State Congress, the Raj Bhavan march was held in the capital on Thursday in protest against the Pegasus spying incident. Hundreds of workers gathered in the program. Instead of following the social distancing, the masks hanging around the neck instead of the faces of the workers were seen and showed that they did not care about the third wave.
Same situation in BJP programs
The same situation is visible in the political and organizational programs of the ruling BJP. The photo of the government's cabinet minister Swami Yatheeswaranand hanging a mask on his toe has become quite viral on social media. Apart from this, the Covid rules are not being followed properly even in the meeting from the party-state working committee to the district level.
Broken rules in AAP rally too
Social distance and masks are also not being followed in the rallies of the Aam Aadmi Party, which is trying to form the government in the state and become the third political force.
There are clear instructions from the organization that the workers should be invited to the programs according to the approved capacity under the Covid guidelines. We are following it. From the responsible leaders of the party to the workers, there are clear instructions to strictly follow the Covid rules said Madan Kaushik, State President, BJP.
There are issues related to inflation, unemployment and corruption on which Congress, being a responsible opposition, cannot keep silent. That's why protests are being organized. It is our best effort to follow the covid guidelines said Suryakant Dhasmana, State Vice President, Congress.
Frankly speaking, no political party and most of the people who do not follow the guidelines themselves, should not talk about the correct Covid behavior (mask, distance etc.) said Anoop Nautiyal, Social Activist (Tweet on social media).
