In the election year, the Dhami government is preparing to give big relief in electricity bills to more than 13 lakh BPL and Antyodaya families of the state. According to Energy Minister Dr. Harak Singh Rawat, the idea is to provide free electricity to these families up to a certain unit. Apart from this, domestic rates of electricity can be fixed instead of commercial rates for enterprises related to agriculture, horticulture and dairy. He said that soon a proposal on both these subjects would be prepared and brought to the cabinet.
The Minister for Energy, Forest Environment, Labor Skill and AYUSH, Dr. Rawat said that the standards for providing free food grains to BPL and Antyodaya families will be prepared according to the same standards. Electricity will be given to such families up to a certain unit. He said that in this regard, the officials of the Energy Corporation have been instructed to prepare a proposal after considering all the aspects.
Dr. Rawat said that in the circumstances arising out of the Corona crisis, enterprises related to agriculture, horticulture and dairy have emerged as a big hope in terms of employment. To encourage more and more people to come forward in these areas, these enterprises will be included in domestic tariff instead of commercial. A proposal in this regard will also be prepared soon.
