Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati has made a big announcement saying that her party will not contest the election of District Panchayat President. The election of district panchayat presidents is going to be held in the state on Saturday. The former Chief Minister of the state said that she has asked the party workers to prepare for the upcoming assembly elections in 2022 instead of the Panchayat elections.
Talking to news agency ANI,she said that if we win the 2022 Vidhan Sabha elections, most of the district panchayat presidents will automatically join our party.
Mayawati said that the opposition parties are spreading rumors with the help of media that BSP is not active for the 2022 Vidhan Sabha elections. She said, "I have been camping in Lucknow continuously since 2021. The media cannot ignore it. We are constantly preparing for the 2022 elections."
Mayawati also attacked the Yogi Adityanath government of the state and said that the BJP government is committing the same mistake that the Samajwadi Party government did. She said that the functioning of BJP is similar to that of SP. The BSP chief said that it was because of this mistake that she had decided to part ways with the SP in 1995.
Mayawati has asked the leaders of her party to beware of 'Saam, Daam, Dand, Bhed' She stressed that in the time of the Corona crisis, she is engaged in the preparations for the upcoming elections from Lucknow itself, following the Covid guidelines. Mayawati has already announced that her party will not forge an alliance with any party in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, but will contest the elections on its own.
