Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has written a letter to PM Modi demanding Bharat Ratna for late environmentalist Sundar Lal Bahuguna. Recently, he unveiled his portrait by planting a tree in the memory of environmentalist Bahuguna in the Delhi Assembly complex. Also, Sunderlal Bahuguna's sons Rajiv and Pradeep Bahuguna were honored by presenting mementos and shawls and a check of one lakh was given to the family as a mark of respect.
During the program, Kejriwal appealed to Prime Minister Modi and said that the late Sunderlal Bahuguna should be honored with Bharat Ratna. He said that even though in the form of the body, Shri Bahuguna is no more with us, but his life and message will always be with us. Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that the picture of those people who have done the work of making our India INDIA has been put up in the assembly.
Whenever we come to the assembly, the philosophy of Bahuguna will guide us. Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel said that the late Mr. Sunderlal Bahuguna gave the message through Chipko Andolan that we need to save the environment.
