Earlier, IPL 2018 had the most number of sixes. 872 sixes were hit in 60 matches this season. In IPL 2022, this record was broken on May 15 in the 62nd match itself. After this, one thousand sixes were also completed in the 70th match. Barring these two seasons, 800 sixes were not hit in any other season. 784 sixes were hit in IPL 2019, which is the third best record for most sixes. The lowest 506 sixes were hit in IPL 2009.

Butler hit most sixes this season
