IPL 2022 New Rule: IPL 2023 will be exciting, BCCI made new rules for the 15th IPL season

There are still three months for the start of IPL (IPL 2023), but from now on cricket fans are excited about this league (Indian Premier League). For next year's IPL, players will be auctioned in Kochi on December 23.  The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made several major changes in the rules of the game ahead of the 15th 2022 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022). In the 15th season, every team will get two DRS referrals. Apart from this, the protocol of COVID-19 rules has also been updated in the team.

Inspired by the new rules issued by the MCC recently, the BCCI has introduced the rule of the new batsman taking the striker after the fall of the wicket in IPL 2022.

New rules of IPL 2022:

1- There will be two DRS for every inning in IPL 2022.

2- If the over is not over after a batsman is caught out, then the new batsman will take the strike, even if the previous batsmen have crossed the yard or not.

3- If a team fails to field 11 players due to COVID-19, then BCCI will try to reschedule that match. If it is not possible to reschedule the match, then the IPL technical team will look into the matter.

4- In the IPL 2022 Playoffs / Finals, if for some reason the Super Over or the subsequent Super Overs are not completed, then the team that secures a higher position in the points table of the league will be declared the winner.

According to the schedule made by BCCI, IPL 2022 will be organized from 26 March to 29 May. All league matches from the tournament will be played in Mumbai and Pune. Although the venue of the playoff matches has not been decided yet. According to the news, Ahmedabad and Kolkata will be the possible options for organizing the playoff matches.

The player in whose place the new player will be sent will be out of the whole match. He won't even be able to field. The impact player can be taken on the field or sent only between the end of the over, the fall of the wicket, or the injury of the player, there cannot be a change in the middle of the ongoing match.

The impact player can go on the field instead of the batsman who has batted or even instead of the bowler who has bowled. Impact players can bat in full innings and can bowl full 4 overs. In any case, only a maximum of 11 players can bat from a team. After the end of the 14th over, no team will be able to take advantage of this rule.

Let us tell you that this rule was also applicable in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy this year. In SMAT, teams were required to assign four substitutes at the time of the toss in their team sheets. Only one of those players could be included in the match for 14 overs. This player was called Impact Player. The impact player is allowed to replace any member of the playing team before the end of the 14th over of either inning. According to this rule, only 11 players of the team will be present on the field in the entire match and only 11 players will be able to bat.
