Women's hockey player Vandana Kataria, who created history in Tokyo Olympics, reached Uttarakhand on Wednesday. Vandana was accorded a grand welcome at Jolly Grant Airport. From here she reacjhed her village in Haridwar.
Hockey player Vandana Kataria was warmly welcomed by the people at Jolly Grant Airport. A large number of people were present here to welcome her. During this, a large number of people including Deshraj Karnwal, MLA Rishikesh, Anita Manmgai, Joint Director Sports BP Bhatt and District Sports Officer Haridwar Sunil Doval were present to welcome her. From here Vandana's convoy left for Haridwar.
On reaching Haridwar, BJP state president Madan Kaushik welcomed Vandana with a bouquet at Chandraacharya Chowk. Kaushik extended his best wishes and congratulations to Vandana. Vandana Kataria from Jolly Grant directly reached the sports stadium located in Roshnabad where Vandana was given a warm welcome. Here she was respected by the officials of the sports department and hockey players.
On Wednesday, Vandana Kataria will reach Graphic Era University in Dehradun at 2 pm. A program will be organized in her honour here. Along with this, a check of Rs 11 lakh will also be handed over to her by the university.
Cleaning done in the village, lights were also installed
Cleanliness was done in the village to welcome Vandana Kataria. Outgoing village head Kavita Pal and her husband Mukesh Pal and Gram Panchayat Officer Anurag Chauhan told that cleanliness has been done in the entire village. He informed that 15 LED lights have also been installed in the locality where Vandana resides.
