The final match of the World Test Championship is to be played between India and New Zealand from June 18 in Southampton, England. Team India practiced in the group for the first time before the final at the ground adjacent to the Ageas Bowl here on Thursday. Indian players had reached England on June 3 to play the final match.
This was the first time that players were allowed on the field with their teammates. Earlier, after reaching Britain, they had to live in strict isolation for three days, later they used to go to the gymnasium and comes for practice at different times.
Siraj will get a place in the playing 11
Players spent full time in the nets and players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara, Rishabh Pant batted for long. The bowlers also sweated profusely. All the main bowlers Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj and Ravichandran Ashwin participated in the practice session. After the net practice session, fielding coach R Sridhar got the players to practice catches.
