Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami inaugurated the State Level Sports Mahakumbh-2022 at Maharana Pratap Sports College, Raipur on Thursday. On this occasion, he also inaugurated the shooting range built at a cost of 31 crores. The Chief Minister gave the cash prize money to the international players and coaches of the state and also honored them.

The Chief Minister said that the amount given to the players for food in the sports competitions organized by the Sports and Youth Welfare Department will be increased from Rs. 150 to Rs. 225. Children who get first, second, and third place in the sports competitions organized at the Nyay Panchayat level will be given Rs.300, Rs.200, and Rs.150 respectively.

Those who get first, second and third positions at the block level will be given Rs 500, Rs 400 and Rs 300 respectively, which were earlier Rs 300, Rs 200, and Rs 150 respectively. Those who get the first, second, and third positions at the district level will be given Rs.800, Rs.600, and Rs.400 respectively, which were earlier Rs.700, Rs.500, and Rs.300 respectively.

Those who get first, second and third positions at the state level will be given Rs 1500, Rs 1000, and Rs 700 respectively, which were earlier Rs 1000, Rs 600, and Rs 400 respectively. Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami said that this sports Mahakumbh to be organized at the state level will provide an excellent platform for the young players of Uttarakhand to showcase their talent.

After playing first at the Panchayat level, then at the block level, then at the district level, the players will display their sporting talent here. He said that it is a matter of pride that the daughters of our state are also actively participating in this Khel Mahakumbh. He said that it is the wonder of the talent of the youth that, today the prestige of New India is increasing on the world stage. Today, India's potential is being introduced at the national and international levels in various sports by our young players. The Chief Minister said that the purpose of this Khel Mahakumbh is to prepare the players for the upcoming 38th National Games.

Uttarakhand will host the 38th National Games. Due to this, the youth of the state will get a chance to show their talent. The Chief Minister said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the state government is working with commitment to make Uttarakhand the "Best Uttarakhand".

The state government is determined to provide better education and better sports facilities to the youth. Uttarakhand is the first state in the country that, on the one hand, has worked to effectively implement the new education policy, and on the other hand, by formulating a new sports policy, has worked to take care of its young players. In the new sports policy, efforts have been made to provide all possible facilities to encourage the players. It has also been decided to reintroduce sports quotas in jobs for sportspersons.

He expressed the hope that our youth players participating in this Khel Mahakumbh will bring laurels to Uttarakhand and the country at the international level in the future. Sports Minister Smt. Rekha Arya said that now there has been a big change in the thinking towards sports and sportspersons in society. Achievement can also be achieved through sports, as can be done through education. He said that sports are being promoted rapidly in the state under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Sports talents are being brought forward from the justice panchayat level to the state level.

Sportspersons are getting benefited from the Chief Minister's Outstanding Sportsperson Upgradation Scheme. Preparations for the 38th National Games to be held in Uttarakhand in 2024 are going on at a fast pace. MLA Umesh Sharma Kau said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, commendable efforts are being made to give new heights to sports in the state.

Giving best wishes to all the players participating in the state-level sports Mahakumbh, he said that they should participate in sports with discipline and aim for victory. On this occasion Block Pramukh Raipur Mrs. Mamta Devi, Sports Director Jitendra Kumar Sonkar, Additional Director Rakesh Chandra Dimri, and other officers, and players of the Sports Department were present.
