Uttarakhand Higher Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat expressed happiness over the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) opening new examination centers at Srinagar and Almora. He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and UPSC Chairman Dr. Pradeep Kumar Joshi for this.

Dr. Rawat said that many youths of the state were unable to go to Dehradun and Delhi to appear for the examination due to the odd geographical condition and economic condition of Uttarakhand, due to which they were deprived of giving the UPSC examination. But with the opening of examination centers in Srinagar and Almora, many youths of the hills will now be able to take UPSC examinations easily.

Higher Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat informed that Dehradun is the only center for conducting UPSC examinations in Uttarakhand, whereas thousands of youth of the state participate in various UPSC examinations. He told that the odd geographical conditions of the state used to deprive many youths from appearing in UPSC examinations, while many promising youths could not go to Dehradun or Delhi due to lack of financial condition. Dr. Rawat said that the decision taken by the Central Government will make it easier for the youth of the hills to appear in the UPSC examinations.
