Chirag Paswan has got a big setback from the Delhi High Court. Chirag Paswan's petition against making uncle Pashupati Paras the leader of the parliamentary party has been dismissed by the Delhi High Court. The High Court said that there is no basis in Chirag Paswan's petition. The Delhi High Court said that the matter is pending with the Lok Sabha Speaker. So there is no need to order.
On Friday, the Delhi High Court heard the petition of Chirag Paswan, filed on behalf of the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, against taking oath as a minister to Pashupati Paras as a member of the Lok Janshakti Party. The speaker's counsel told the court that he had spoken to the speaker in this matter. It has been informed from his side that he is looking into this matter. The lawyer referred to a decision of the Supreme Court.
The court said that we cannot pass any order in this matter as the speaker is looking into the matter. The counsel for the Speaker of the Lok Sabha said that there is no ground for hearing this petition. When the Lok Sabha Speaker himself is looking into the matter. Chirag's lawyer has not opposed this point of the speaker.
The lawyer appearing for Pashupati Paras said that the letter which Paras had given to the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, at that time Pashupati Paras was the Chief Whip of the party and was later elected the leader of the party. The court said that you should go to the Election Commission. Should not have come here. The court said that this petition is not maintainable here. In the petition filed in the Delhi High Court, Chirag Paswan has said that Pashupati Kumar Paras has been expelled from the party as the national president due to anti-party activities and deceit to the top leadership. Because of this he is not a member of LJP. Chirag had challenged the decision of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla in the court, in which the faction of his uncle Union Food Processing Minister Pashupati Kumar Paras has been recognized.
