The shooting of 'Scam 2003', the sequel to director Hansal Mehta's successful series 'Scam 1992', is about to start. In this, the story of a scam of about 20 thousand crore rupees will be shown. It was believed that Prateek Gandhi could return in this series of Hansal. But it is clear from the teaser that not Pratik Gandhi but Gagan Dev Riar has been chosen for the role of Telgi. About a month back, the shooting of Scam: 2003 had started. Now, this teaser has increased the excitement about Hansal Mehta's new series.

Hansal Mehta has found a new face for this series, which was announced in March last year, just like his previous series. Prateek Gandhi, who played the lead role in 'Scam 1992', helped a lot and he became a digital star overnight. 

This time Hansal Mehta has again turned to the theaters for his new series and after months of searching has found a new face for his new series 'Scam 2003'. Meanwhile, a new twist has come in this series Sony Entertainment's production company Studio Next will produce this series and Hansal Mehta will no longer be the director of this series but only the showrunner.

 

What will be the story?

'Scam 2003' is based on the famous stamp scam of Maharashtra and this series is being made according to the stories recorded in the book 'Reporter's Diary' by journalist Sanjay Singh. The name of this series at the time of its announcement was 'Scam 2003: The Curious Case of Abdul Karim Telgi'. Now this series will be known as 'Scam 2003: The Telgi Story'. This is the story of the infamous Abdul Karim Telgi, who had created a whole network of supplying fake stamp paper in the country and also set up a factory in Maharashtra by buying an old currency printing machine in scrap.

During the investigation of this case, the name of the wife of a superstar of that time and a strong leader of the state also came up in the investigation. This leader is known to be involved in one way or the other in the ruling party of Maharashtra. Abdul Karim Telgi, who was born in Khanapur, Karnataka, had done this unique scam with his vicious mind, in which a fraud of 20 thousand crores was found. The famous writer of Marathi cinema, Yajnopaveet has been signed to write this series. Sanjay Singh will also be a part of the writing team. The series will now be directed by Tushar Hiranandani.

Theater artist Gagan Dev Riyar to play the role of Telgi in the series has been finalized and his first look was also released on Tuesday. At the time of the announcement of the series, Hansal Mehta was about to start shooting for it only last year. Then he said, 'I am very excited from now on to bring the story of another scam in front of the audience. The countrymen are very much interested in these economic crime stories of the past, this has been proved by the series made on Harshad Mehta. Now we are all going to start working on a new story together and I am very excited about this project.

It was Hansal Mehta who made the web series 'Scam 1992' which changed the fate of actor Prateek Gandhi. It is counted among the best crime web series in the Hindi entertainment world. Keeping this story of the biggest stock scam in the country very close to reality, director Hansal Mehta also started a new trend on OTT. Some of the producers also met Arun Kumar, the country's senior IPS officer who conducted the CBI investigation into the Telgi scam. However, Sony Liv's series will focus more on the Maharashtra Police's investigation into the scam.
