The issue of 4600-grade pay of Uttarakhand Police personnel has also got the support of the General OBC Employees Association. In this regard, after talking to Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal, the association requested to give 2400, 4600 and 4800-grade pay to the police personnel in the first, second and third MACP as before.

Association president Deepak Joshi said that the cabinet minister has assured to find a way out in favor of the police personnel in the meeting to be held on July 23 on this issue. On Wednesday, a delegation led by Deepak Joshi, the provincial president of the General OBC Employees Union, met cabinet minister Subodh Uniyal. The delegation told the cabinet minister that the payment of grade pay lower than the available posts to police personnel is against the financial rules.

This may have an adverse effect on other service unions and departmental personnel. They are suffering financial loss due to the wrong interpretation made in fixing the salary of the police personnel of the state. There are promotion posts of constable, head constable, sub-inspector and inspector in the police structure. Despite this, it is wrong to not give them grade pay relative to the post of promotion on the prescribed period of service. He urged the cabinet minister to take appropriate steps in this matter as per rules.
