Former District Panchayat VC and AAP leader arrested for contesting elections with fake marksheet

Former district panchayat vice-president and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Trinath Biswas, who contested the election with a fake high school mark sheet, has been arrested by the police. Trinath left the BJP and joined AAP after a case has been registered against him in Pantnagar police station.
Trinath Vishwas, a resident of village Vijaynagar, police station Dineshpur, contested the election of district panchayat member by making a fake mark sheet of high school. After this, he became the Vice President of the Zilla Panchayat. The officials swung into action after the news of Trinath's contesting elections on a fake mark sheet was revealed.
On 7 October 2020, DM Ranjana Rajguru had given instructions to register a case against Trinath. Based on records presented by Panchayat Raj Officer Vidya Singh Semwal, a case was registered against the District Panchayat Vice President in Pantnagar police station under various sections including cheating.
After the registration of the case, Trinath was sacked from the post of district panchayat vice-president. During this time, Trinath left the BJP and joined the Aam Aadmi Party. Pantnagar police station SO Madanmohan Joshi said that Trinath has been arrested from his house on Wednesday. Preparations were made to present Trinath in the court.
