Forest Minister Harak Singh said that there is a dire need for consistent land law in Uttarakhand. It should not happen that Uttarakhand becomes empty by the time it is implemented. The Forest Minister had reached Tehri to attend the BJP Working Committee meeting where he said this.
Forest Minister Harak Singh Rawat said that a lot has changed in the last few years. So there is a need to save the land. I had raised the issue of consolidation in Uttarakhand during my tenure as minister, but it could not be implemented. There is a huge potential to work in horticulture and agriculture in the state and it is very important to save land. Land law requires flexibility and firmness. Consideration should be given to the implementation of land law.
He said that there is a shortage of lower staff in the forest department. In such a situation, the government is making amendments for forest recruitment and the forest guard will be recruited in the forest department at the district level. On the question of cheap electricity, he said that electricity theft does not cause much loss, but if cheap electricity is available during power purchase, then it will benefit the state. We do not have a monitoring cell in case of power purchase. Now I have made a separate cell for power purchase in Urja Bhavan so that it will be known who can give us cheap electricity. On this occasion, the Forest Minister also planted a sapling of Rudraksh in New Tehri.
