Favorites transferred in zero transfer session

Despite the declaration of zero transfer session by the Uttarakhand government on 2021-22, the game of transfers continues in the education department secretly. The latest case is of Uttarakhand Board in Ramnagar. It is being said that cancer patients and other needy teachers are not being transferred in the department, but the “loved ones” are given their desired postings.

There is no one to take care of those who do not have access to the education department. This is the reason that even after the enactment of the Transfer Act, teachers who are cancer patients and who are working in inaccessible and very inaccessible schools for 15 to 20 years are not able to come to schools in the accessible areas. At the same time, the process of transfer of recommended teachers in the department is going on. After the recent transfers of two teachers in the department, now two other teachers have been transferred from the schools of inaccessible areas of Nainital and Uttarkashi to the post of Research Officer in Ramnagar Board.

According to departmental sources, Shailendra Joshi was working in a school in the inaccessible area of Nainital who was transferred to the post of research officer. After that he was brought to the grievance cell of the Directorate of Education Dehradun four years ago, but since then he was working in the staff of the Education Minister. While another teacher Ramchandra Pandey has been transferred from Uttarkashi to Ramnagar Board.

The department did not take care of them

There is no one to take care of cancer victim Jai Prakash Bahukhandi and other teachers like him working as an assistant teacher in Government Primary School, Birmoli district Pauri.

According to Bahukhandi, he is making rounds of the department for transfer since July 2020. For this, he has written to the Chief Minister, Education Minister, Chief Secretary as well as regional MLA Harak Singh Rawat. They say that if they cannot be transferred, they should be attached to a school in Dehradun till they get treatment, but no one took care of them. Similarly, many such teachers are in schools of difficult areas for the last 20 years.

Officials are silent as the matter is related to the minister

Due to the issue of transfer of teachers being related to the Education Minister, the departmental officers have remained silent in the matter. Education Secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram says that the matter will be looked into. At the same time, even after efforts, the Education Minister could not be contacted in this matter.

Despite the enactment of the Transfer Act, teachers are not getting the benefit of it. After two teachers recently in zero transfer session, now two other teachers have been transferred. The teachers are angry with such transfers said KK Dimri, State President State Teachers Association
