Digiyatra: Android users will get rid of the long lines of check-in and boarding passes at airport
It is going to be a Biometric Enabled Seamless Travel Experience for the passengers, where people will now be given entry through facial recognition technology.
Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has launched the DigiYatra app based on the beta version. It is going to be a Biometric Enabled Seamless Travel Experience for the passengers, where people will now be given entry through facial recognition technology. This app has been launched for the convenience of Android users and passengers traveling by plane.
According to DIAL, once the service of this app is started, passengers will not need to carry their identity card and boarding pass. With the help of the app, passengers will be able to take entry at the airport in a paperless and seamless manner.
This technology will make the boarding process much faster and more seamless as each passenger will need less than three seconds at each touch point. Their face will serve as their documents, such as ID proof, and vaccine proof, and will also act as a boarding pass.
Our aim is to make the entry of passengers at the airport paperless and seamless, which will save time. Meaning now with the help of the app, passengers will be given airport entry through facial recognition technology.
In fact, Delhi airport is currently one of the first few airports in the country to have this system operational. DIAL had installed the required facility at Terminal 3 of the Delhi airport and had already tested it. During this, around 20,000 passengers experienced a smooth and safe journey after using the facility.
The beta version of the Digiyatra app is currently available on Playstore (for the Android platform). The same app will be available on the App Store (for the iOS platform) in a few weeks. Domestic passengers flying from Terminal-3 on behalf of any airline can download the app and register themselves for a seamless travel experience at the airport.
