Crisis for ESI employees, private hospitals stopped treatment, this is the reason
Due to the non-payment of crores of dues of private hospitals, the health of the employees associated with ESI has come under threat
Due to the non-payment of crores of dues of private hospitals, the health of the employees associated with ESI has come under threat. Two big hospitals of Doon have stopped treatment from ESI. According to ESI Director Prashant Arya, every year around 7-8 lakh people visit the OPD of the ESI dispensary. Out of this, 20 percent of patients are referred to empaneled hospitals. That is, about 12 thousand people get treatment in these hospitals every month.
Every year the money for the treatment of about two to three thousand people is given to these hospitals from the labor department through ESI. But for a long time, crores of rupees are not being given to some big private hospitals. Out of this, about 60 crores are due to Shri Mahant Indresh and Jolly Grant Hospital. After this these hospitals have stopped the treatment of ESI patients.
Shree Mahant Indiresh Hospital's payment of 45 crores and Himalayan Hospital Jollygrant 15 crores is due from ESI. Due to this, there is a problem in the treatment of patients there. We are trying to resolve this matter at the earliest so that the patients can get the full benefit of ESI said Dr. Harak Singh Rawat
