Corona investigation fraud : Sharat and Mallika had made an agreement between accused and Nalwa lab
The arrested accused Ashish Vashisht told that his lab was not registered with ICMR. Therefore, Sharat and Mallika Pant, partners of Max Corporate Services, had got it signed with Nalwa Lab
The first arrest has been made by the SIT team probing the fraud in the Covid investigation of devotees visiting Dharmanagari in Mahakumbh 2021. The arrested accused Ashish Vashisht told that his lab was not registered with ICMR. Therefore, Sharat and Mallika Pant, partners of Max Corporate Services, made an agreement of his lab with Nalwa Lab. After this, to examine the devotees, he had hired staff for corona investigation from an institution in Jagjitpur in Bhiwani, Haryana and Haridwar.
In the investigation of the SIT, it was revealed that the partner of Max Corporate firm Sharat and his wife Mallika Pant, misleading the Kumbh Mela Officer (Medical and Health), by showing an MoU with Nalwa Lab Hisar and Doctor Lal Chandani Lab Delhi to take the contract of Covid investigation in Kumbh 2021. After this, the husband and wife with the help of one of their acquaintances also included Ashish Vashisht of Delphia Lab in Bhiwani, Haryana. After this, they got MoU prepared with Ashish Vashisht and Navtej Nalwa, owner of Nalwa Lab Hisar and prepared Ashish for Covid testing in the name of Nalwa Lab.
It has also come to the fore in the investigation that Ashish Vashisht, despite not being authorized for testing, got the Covid test wrongly done by taking unskilled staff from the organization of Bhiwani and Jagjitpur at the behest of Sharat and Mallika Pant. SIT investigating officer Rajesh Shah told that the police will take the accused Ashish on remand for three days. On his behest, the register and laptop used during testing were recovered.
One lakh 10 thousand tests uploaded
According to SIT investigating officer Rajesh Shah, accused Ashish fluctuated the numbers and uploaded the data of about one lakh 10 thousand tests on the ICMR portal which were much more than the actual numbers. After this, fake bills were prepared from Nalwa Lab and given to Sharat Pant and Mallika Pant to release the amount of four crore rupees. At the same time, the investigation of the SIT has revealed that there has been a lot of variation in the number of people tested during the Mahakumbh and their mobile numbers on the ICMR portal. The investigation of this matter will continue.
Five accounts were frozen
According to police officials, a total of seven accounts, including five bank accounts of Max Corporate firm belonging to Sharat and Mallika Pant, have been frozen. There is an amount of Rs 31,41,752 in these accounts.
