Chausa is very much liked in Uttarakhand. Know the easy recipe for making Chausa ki daal below :
- Whole Urad
- Green Chilli finely chopped
- Turmeric powder
- Coriander powder
- Garam Masala
First of all, you have to roast the whole urad dal for 4 to 5 minutes. After roasting, put it in the mixer and grind it coarsely. After this, put a pan on the gas and pour two spoons of oil into it. After it becomes slightly hot, add cumin, green chili, whole red chili, asafoetida and fry it for two to three minutes.
Now you have to put urad dal in it and fry it in medium flame for four to five minutes. After frying add water as required.
Once the pan started boiling, add spices and salt to it. After that cover it and let it cook on a medium flame for about 15 minutes. Keep stirring it occasionally. After 15 minutes Chausa will be ready. You can also put green coriander on it. Before serving do not forget to mix ghee for a delicious aroma.
