In Uttarakhand, the preparations for the Char Dham Yatra are gaining momentum, while the enthusiasm of the devotees is also increasing. Online booking of tickets for the heli service to be operated for Kedarnath Dham during the Chardham Yatra has started.

There the advance booking of about 3500 tickets has been done in two days. In which about 15 thousand pilgrims will travel. The doors of the world-famous Kedarnath Dham will be opened on May 6.

Heli service is operated from Guptkashi, Phata, and Sirsi for Kedarnath Dham. After normalizing the situation from Corona, Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority has already completed all the preparations to conduct Chardham Yatra on a large scale this year.

How to book helicopter services to (and from) Kedarnath?

Looking at that 16 km long trek from Gaurikund to Kedarnath temple. There are air services for senior pilgrims devotees.

Here's how to book a chopper ride:

  1. Visit the Heli Services registration portal of the Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority, the link to which can be found here: https://heliservices.uk.gov.in/
  2. Click "Registration" on the menu bar above the Kedarnath temple image.
  3. Select your nationality from a small drop-down menu. If you're Indian, fill in your 12-digit Aadhar number, mobile number, and email address.
  4. Once registration is successful, the page will refresh and a login window will appear. Enter the Aadhar number as a username and set a password.

It if doesn't, simply click "Check Availability".

  • Choose your departure date by clicking on the calendar.
  • To choose a location, open the drop-down menu and select your boarding point.
  • Select Kedarnath as the destination.

Know the fare and passenger amenities

Those traveling to Kedarnath by helicopter will have to pay Rs 7750 as one-way fare from Guptkashi, 4720 from Phata, and Rs 4680 from Sirsi. Civil Aviation Department Secretary Dilip Jawalkar said that passenger facilities are being expanded at the helipad. According to Jawalkar, the heli facility will start from the very first day of the journey. In fact, CM Pushkar Dhami gave instructions regarding the Char Dham Yatra in the meeting of the Secretariat.

Dhami gave these instructions

Air ambulance should be arranged for timely and satisfactory medical facilities.

- Use of drone technology for traffic management and operation

A toll-free number should also be issued to help Char Dham pilgrims.

Water ATMs should be installed at a short distance along the travel route for the passengers.

- Require rate list in hotels and keep a close watch on the adulteration.

Heli service is operated for Kedarnath Dham from Guptkashi, Sirsi, and Phata helipad of Rudraprayag district. The Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) has tied up with nine heli companies. Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam has started online booking of tickets for heli services from Monday. The website was opened for online booking at 6 pm. Within two hours, 2140 tickets have been booked. Guptkashi is one of the main town enroute Kedarnath Dham. It is well connected by road and public transport is easily available to Guptkashi. Most of the pilgrims prefer Guptkashi Helipad for the Kedarnath Dham visit as it is the first helipad enroute and has good accommodation facilities along with other facilities like medical etc. Guptkashi Helipad is used by major Kedarnath Heli Companies – Arrow Aircraft, Aryan Aviation.
