At present, heavy rain is being seen in North India. Due to this, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange alert for rain in Uttarakhand on 24 and 25 September. The department estimates that there may be heavy rains in the state, so people have been advised to be alert.

There was heavy rain in both states. Due to this, there was water logging and normal life was completely disturbed.

Gangotri National Highway closed since late night

Gangotri National Highway in Uttarkashi has been blocked since late at night between Helga Gad and Sunagar. Boulders are constantly falling from the hill on the route. Once the landslide stops, the process of clearing the road will be started.

Malari Highway closed in Saldhar

Malari Highway in Chamoli district is closed at Saldhar. A total of 11 rural roads in the district are also closed due to rain. Due to the rains for three days, the movement of the Chardham Yatra is being disrupted again and again. Waterlogging is happening at places due to rain in Dehradun. Today, on Saturday also, it is cloudy in Dehradun.

At the same time, the Meteorological Center has issued an orange alert for very heavy rain in six districts for the next three days. There is also a possibility of increasing troubles in the mountainous areas.

The Director of Meteorological Center and Senior Meteorologist Vikram Singh said that there will a possibility of heavy rain in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, Udham Singh Nagar, and Haridwar within 24 hours. Those who are living on the banks of rivers, and streams as well as people living in landslide-prone areas need to be careful. In the wake of heavy rains, there is a need to be very cautious in terms of disaster management.

According to Singh, due to the formation of a low-pressure area with the activation of the cyclone in Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand is expected to receive rain for three days from the plain to the mountain. After three days, there will be some relief from the rain as the cyclone moves from the Bihar side.
