The data of sero survey was presented during the regular press briefing organized by the Union Health Ministry on Tuesday. According to this, sero-prevalence has been found in 67.6 percent of the people in the country, that is, antibodies have been found in two-thirds of the people. ICMR DG Balram Bhargava said that 40 crore population is still under threat of Covid-19.

The most important thing is that 85 percent of the health workers have got Covid. In such a situation, it has been said from the Ministry of Health that people should still adopt covid appropriate behavior and avoid traveling without essentials. Sero survey was done on 28 thousand 975 people in 70 districts of 21 states. 10 villages or wards in every district are covered in this.

ICMR DG Balram Bhargava said that children can withstand the infection better than older people. Antibodies in 6-9 year olds are equivalent to adults. Antibody exposure, especially in young children, has been observed to be similar to that of adults. In some countries primary schools were never closed. In such a situation, if the school is to be opened then the primary schools should be opened first. He further said that secondary school should be opened after primary. But all support staff is required to be vaccinated.
