Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday said that the DNA of all Indians is the same and Muslims should not get caught in the "circle of fear" that Islam is under threat in India. He was speaking at a program organized by Rashtriya Muslim Manch here on the topic 'Hindustani first, Hindustan first'. He said that people cannot be differentiated based on their method of worship.
Attacking those involved in the incidents of lynching, the RSS chief said, "They are against Hindutva." However, he said that some false cases of lynching have been registered against the people.
"Don't fall into this cycle of fear that Islam is in danger in India," Bhagwat said. He said that development is not possible without unity in the country. The RSS chief insisted that the basis of unity should be nationalism and the pride of ancestors. He said that the only solution to the Hindu-Muslim conflict is 'Samvad' and not 'Visamvad'.
Bhagwat said, 'The talk of Hindu-Muslim unity is misleading because they are not separate but one. The DNA of all Indians is the same, irrespective of religion. He said, 'We are in a democracy. There cannot be the dominance of Hindus or Muslims. Only Indians can dominate here.
Bhagwat started his address by saying that he has neither joined the program to create any image nor for vote bank politics. He said that the Sangh is neither in politics nor does it care about maintaining any kind of image. "It (Sangh) continues its work for empowering the nation and for the welfare of all people in the society," the RSS chief said.
